Looking for a waterfowl guide position this winter. I’m in Louisiana, but will travel. Would love to work doing what I love this winter and have always played with the idea, but this year I’m gonna bite the bullet and try to find a job as a waterfowl guide this season! Even on the bad days I can entertain a group of 5 or more. They wouldn’t have to fire a shot and they’d still want to go ahead and book your next opening, just so they could have a couple of hours of talking smack with ole John in the blind. Reach out and give me a call anytime if you are interested and having me join you this winter!

Our family of four (husband, wife, daughter 5 years old and son 3 years old), are looking to emigrate from South Africa to the United States on a permanent basis. With our college qualifications and years of experience we would qualify for an EB2-Visa. In order to apply for this Visa, we would first need an official job offer from a US-based business.

Our qualifications and experience are best suited to a position of Ranch Management or Ranch Assistant Managers within the hunting industry.

Qualifications:

Husband: Honours Degree in Wildlife Management with a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Management

Wife: Bachelor of Science Degree in Conservation Ecology

Experience:

At present we run our family farm of 3,500 acres, consisting of +/- 300 Angus cattle, 150 Hampshire Sheep, vegetable and flower production. I manage all aspects of the cattle and sheep operation, machinery maintenance, fencing, staff duties, breeding programs and pasture management. My wife manages the farm's bookkeeping, staff salaries, timesheet and human resources as well as the growing and managing of cut flowers for export orders and floral designs of weddings and conferences.

I, myself also operate and own a very successful and well-respected hunting safari business, which caters exclusively to foreign hunters wanting to come and hunt in South Africa. I have owned this business for the past 8 years and guided hunters from all over the world, with the US making up 80% of our clientele. I have been guiding professionally for the past 12 years, with experience in dangerous game such as Cape Buffalo, Elephant, and Lion.

My wife runs her own successful business where she coordinates and arranges floral designs for weddings and conferences.

Before our current situation, we both managed a high-end lodge in the Okavango Delta of Northern Botswana. We ran all day to day duties of the lodge, as well welcoming and hosting guests, managed bookings, flight itineraries, machine maintenance, back of house issues, catering and stock supplies, record keeping of the lodge and various administration tasks such as tourism and guide licenses.

We are available to supply character references from past and current clients residing in the US and would be more than happy to arrange a Zoom/FaceTime call with any potential employers that would like to learn more about us.
